The 2003 Strategic Surveys covered four areas:

Strategic Work Life Survey

This survey assessed job characteristics, aspects of work life, and employee perceptions and feelings about their jobs and employment with the County. This was the foundation for the current Stategic Values Survey.

Strategic Training Needs Surveys (Forms A and B)

These surveys assessed the training needs of employees, i.e., the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies that will need to be developed to achieve the goals of Workforce Excellence and Service Excellence.

Strategic Computer Use Survey

This survey assessed the ability of employees to use personal computers to create and edit documents, to store and better utilize data, to make presentations, to communicate through electronic mail, and to obtain information from the internet. It also asked employees for input on the County's Computer Purchase Program which enabled employees to purchase computers at reduced cost with low interest credit union financing.

Strategic Supervisor Survey

This survey asked supervisors and managers to describe the work behavior and performance of a random sample (about ten percent) of employees. This was the foundation for the current Strategic Supervisor Survey.
